Our Journey
J's Sunrise Grill is owned and operated by Ryza and Chef Naigel,
a Filipino-Canadian husband-and-wife duo. Chef Naigel honed his craft
working in 5-star hotels in the Middle East before immigrating to Canada.
Through hard work and determination, the couple opened J's Sunrise Grill
at 5330 72 Ave SE #121 in Calgary — an all-day breakfast and lunch
restaurant that reflects their love of food, family, and Filipino culture.
Their inspiring story was featured on OMNI Television in September 2025.

Our Menu
Our diverse menu spans classic Canadian brunch favourites — fluffy
pancakes, eggs, crispy hash browns, and hearty omelettes — alongside
signature Filipino-Asian fusion dishes like Sisig Pork Wraps,
Bulgogi Beef Wraps, Empanadas, and Bangsilog. Our popular Poutine
Creations feature unique twists like Buffalo Pork and Spicy Crispy
Pork. The Super Smash Deluxe burger and Ube Waffle Delight
are fan favourites at our Calgary SE location.

Our Kamayan Feast
What truly sets J's Sunrise Grill apart is our famed Kamayan Feast,
a Filipino Boodle Fight communal dining experience available by
reservation on Thursday through Sunday evenings. The feast features
platters overflowing with crispy pork, grilled meats, seafood,
longanisa, chicken inasal, fried tilapia, and more — all served on
banana leaves and eaten with your hands in true Filipino tradition.
It's a must-try for adventurous diners celebrating special occasions in Calgary.
